A little beauty, a little planning, and a strong case for pajamas.

Hi Reader,

I’m sitting outside a local café, writing this newsletter, surrounded by what Christine Valters Paintner would call “the extravagant gifts of nature.” The hickories glow yellow, the air is cool, and I feel the sun on my back. And I can’t help noticing the orange maple against the cloudless blue sky—it doesn’t get much better than this. {I’m also hearing the extravagant sounds of leaf blowers, but I’ll try to ignore those.}

I love the energy and tension of this season—trying to be present to all this beauty, feeling energized by planning for the next year, and looking forward to a couple of slow, cozy months—hopefully in my pajamas with some chocolate.

Tip of the Week

Pull thread firmly, not aggressively

Aim for stitching that feels snug but not strained. Pulling too tightly can tear paper, warp signatures, or make the spine look pinched.

Book of the Week

This week's featured book was created by Kathy Johnson. Her book caught our eye with its beautiful botanical details and sweet little slipcase. We love how it has such a light, lovely feel. It makes you want to keep unfolding it to see what comes next!
